Mud pit turned flower bed...

...is what we're hoping will work out here. No gutters on the house so the rain makes a nice line in the grass along the eave, pools in a low area, and makes a small pond where the house and patio roof meet.
Plans are for a rock bed with water loving and durable plants along the back of the house (with a spot for the composter), even out the low spot(s), and turn the ponding area in to a rain catchment area. Work will get started as soon as it doesn't rain for more than one day in a row!
